Cybele graduated from RMIT University’s Osteopathy Clinical and Applied Science degrees with first class honours in 2001. After graduation she practiced at two busy clinics in Sydney where she was exposed to a vast array of ailments and treatment techniques. After moving to Hong Kong she established an Osteopathic practice within a multidisciplinary clinic and enjoyed working alongside acupuncturists, physiotherapists and naturopaths. At the same time she worked with GPs in Hong Kong’s premier expatriate health clinic, OTandP. On return to Australia she has grown her family by two and thrown herself into full time motherhood.
Cybele's Focus
Cybele applies her sound musculoskeletal examination and diagnostic skills and treats all walks of life. She delights in giving pre and post natal care and treating babies and children with complaints such as pain, motion restriction, difficulty settling/sleeping, asthma and recurrent ear infections. She has been fortunate enough to work with many children with special needs such as those with cerebral palsy and autistic spectrum disorder. Cybele particularly enjoys finding the root cause of ANY chronic/acute pain or dysfunction by piecing together a thorough history and examination. Seeing a lasting change is always her primary goal. .
Cybele's Training
RMIT’s rigorous 5 year training included clinical anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, pathology, radiology, orthopedics and Osteopathic philosophy, diagnosis and treatment. Clinical experience continued throughout and involved hundreds of supervised treatments and exposure to pediatric clinical practice. Since starting clinical practice in 2001 Cybele has attended the European School of Osteopathy’s International Conference in Maidstone, UK, completed a year-long Certificate course in Acupuncture at Hong Kong University and attended seminars on ‘Cranial/ Sacral technique’ also held in Hong Kong. She is fully committed to and enjoys formal continuing professional development as outlined by the Australian Osteopathic Association. Cybele is grateful for the breadth of clinical experience she has had and says, ‘I believe that I can thank practitioners and patients I have worked with for really valuable training, from the phenomenal Osteopaths I started out with to the GPs in Hong Kong who were pioneering treatment of special needs children. From hardworking tradies to devout yogis and from deskbound professionals to professional Jockeys I have learnt so much. Making a positive change to people’s quality of life is incredibly rewarding so I am lucky enough to be able to say I absolutely love my job!’
