Are you struggling to breastfeed?
Is your baby not latching on properly?
Do they keep pulling off or tire easily?
Do they favour one breast over the other?
Is your supply very low?
In order for your baby to have a good strong suck that they can sustain, their jaw and neck muscles need to be balanced and strong and have an uninterrupted nerve supply so the tongue can work efficiently.
Pressure put through the baby’s head and neck during the birth (even during a caesarean section) can result in more muscle tightness on one side of the neck or jaw, or disruption of the nerve supply.
Gentle osteopathic treatment relieved any compression at the base of the skull to relieve any pressure on the nerves. It also gently releases any muscle tightness in the baby’s jaw and neck to make feeding more efficient and more comfortable, for Mum AND baby.
